    2. Positive affirmations. Say to yourself, ‘I am confident” I will enjoy this experience”

    3. Get plenty of rest the night before the shoot. Being tired can show in your expression and appearance.

    4. Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water in the days before the shoot to keep your skin looking fresh.

    5. Grooming. Haircuts, beard trim, manicures, skincare are essential to make you camera ready. Style your hair in a way that makes you feel confident. Get a haircut a few days before the shoot so it grows out a bit for a natural look.. Guys, shave right before the shoot, it’s almost impossible to remove stubble.

    6. Choose your outfit(s) wisely. Make sure it fits well and reflects your style. Try it on beforehand to ensure you feel good in it.

    7. Warm up. Spend a few minutes before the shoot doing some relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing or light stretching. This can help release tension.

    8. Have Fun!  Try to approach the session with a sense of playfulness and enjoyment. Think of it as an opportunity to express yourself.

  • Everybody is nervous to some degree. Share your concerns with me. I’m used to dealing with nerves and can help put you at ease.

    Practice Relaxation Techniques:. Try deep breathing or mindfulness exercises before the session to help calm your heart rate and reduce anxiety.

    Bring a Friend. If possible, bring someone along who can support you and help lighten the mood.

    Engage in Warm-Up Activities. Before the session, do a fun activity, listen to music, or dance to boost your mood and energy levels.

    Practice Posing. If you're unsure about posing, practice in front of a mirror before the session. Research poses that resonate with you for inspiration.

    Focus on the Experience. Concentrate on enjoying the moment rather than worrying about how you’ll look in the photos. The more present you are, the more genuine your expressions and emotions will come through.

    Have Fun with It! Remind yourself that this is an opportunity to express yourself and have a good time. Try thinking of it as a fun day out rather than a high-pressure event.

  • Firstly, bring at least a few clothing and accessory options. We will work out which outfits you feel best in and what will look best on camera.

    Solid Colors. Choose solid colors or subdued patterns. Avoid busy patterns.. Solid colors help keep the focus on your face.

    Flattering Tones. Select colors that complement your skin tone. Jewel tones (like emerald green, royal blue, or deep red) tend to look great on many people.

    Layering. Layering can add depth to your look. A blazer or cardigan can add sophistication and can be easily removed for a different look.

    Simple Accessories. Consider wearing simple, minimal accessories that won’t distract from your face. A classic watch, stud earrings, or a delicate necklace can enhance your look without overwhelming it.

    Fit Matters:. Ensure your clothes fit well and are tailored to your body. Avoid overly loose or baggy clothing that can create an unkempt appearance.

    Textures: Textured fabrics (like knits, silk, or denim) can add visual interest without being distracting. However, avoid overly shiny materials that can cause glare.

    Necklines:. Choose necklines that complement your face and create a balanced look. Crew necklines work well for many people, while v-necks can lengthen the neck.

    Hair and Makeup:. If you wear makeup, opt for a natural look with a matt finish that enhances your features. For hair, choose a style that you feel most confident in, whether that’s natural or a polished look.

    What to Avoid. Busy patterns, Logos and branding (unless it’s part of your branded portrait), Overly casual wear, Shiny fabrics,, Excessive accessories, Clothing that’s too tight or too loose.

    White or very bright colors bring the viewer’s attention to your clothing, not your face, which is where we want the viewer’s attention to be.

    Be Yourself! Ultimately, wear something that reflects your personality and makes you feel confident.

  • Yes, I do light retouching to remove temporary blemishes, whiten eyes and teeth, soften creases, and do various touchups so you look your best. My retouching philosophy is to make your skin look natural and healthy, not plastic. Basic retouching is included in the cost of the shoot.

  • It depends on how many finished shots you’re purchasing and how much time we spend together afterwards reviewing the shot(s) that you’llselect. A basic headshot may take a half an hour and a Personal Branding session could take half a day. description

  • Yes, there is a private dressing room with a makeup table, and bathroom.

  • I can arrange for a professional makeup artist at additional cost, which is usually around $150 - $175.

  • I pride myself in having a clean and safe environment. I follow all CDC and local guidelines for Covid-19 prevention.

  • No, you are free to use and reproduce the photos however you wish. I wi;; provide you with 2 versions of each photo selected. One that’s optimized for internet/social media use plus a high resolution version for printing.

  • At our initial consultation we will schedule a date that works for both of us. A 50% deposit is required to confirm the photoshoot date.
